 After struggling at scrum time in the 16-16 home draw with Wales and the 10-9 away defeat by France, Ireland were boosted yesterday by the return to fitness of props Cian Healy and Mike Ross, both of whom were named in a 34-man training squad.

Munster backs Keith Earls and Simon Zebo are also expected to be fit to face England after missing the match in Paris. However, head coach Joe Schmidt is still missing a host of players, with three more – Sean O’Brien, Mike McCarthy and Dave Kearney – having been ruled out of the tournament following the France clash.
